WINE FARMS
The Crags has become a wine Makers Haven with four wine farms within a 5 Minute Drive. Newstead, Kay & Monty, Lodstone and Bramon are making some exceptional wines for which Newstead was won a number of awards locally and abroad for it MCC’s.
Newstead Wine Farm
Newstead has been described as the best kept secret inside the South African wine industry’s best kept secret.
While the fanfare around the country’s wines is almost always focused on the Cape, we believed from the start that the young Plettenberg Bay Winelands had something special. Time, hard work and accolades have proven this to be true.
Kay & Monty Vineyards
Set in the lush rolling hills of The Crags in the heart of the Plett Wine Route – South Africa’s smallest “Wine of Origin” production area – Kay & Monty Vineyards is a small, family-owned wine farm with just under eight hectares of land under vine.
Lodestone Wine & Olive Estate
Lodestone Wine and Olive Estate was first established in 2012 on a beautiful, fynbos-covered property in the Redford area of the Crags just outside of Plettenberg Bay. The Estate comprises two adjoining farms nestling in the foothills of the Tsitsikama Mountains at an elevation of 250 metres.
BRAMON BOUTIQUE WINE ESTATE
Situated in a mountainous area called The Crags, it is the first estate to pioneer vineyards in the Plettenburg Bay area, only 20 km away from the town itself, a boutique Wine Estate (250 ton Cellar), is the first Estate so far East of the Western Cape.
